Overview
Business
Rockchip (瑞芯微电子股份有限公司) designs system-on-chip processors for connected devices. Smart application processors make up about 90% of its revenue, and its customers span cars, machine vision, robots, industrial equipment, education, smart home and consumer electronics (2026 interim report, p. 9).
Results
In the first half of 2026 revenue rose 40.6% to ¥2.88bn and net profit attributable to shareholders rose 61.7% to ¥859.0m (p. 6). It reports no robot revenue. Its inventory was ¥1.52bn at the end of June, and the company says memory and other upstream material supply will stay under pressure for several quarters, so it is stocking ahead (p. 12).
Robots
The company describes a split of roles inside a robot. Its main chips act as the robot's "cerebellum", with built-in operators for vision recognition, 3D mapping and path planning. Its coprocessors, led by the RK182X, act as the "brain" for multimodal perception, reasoning and decision-making (p. 12). The company says that:
- several robots using the RK182X were released and entered volume production in the first half of 2026, and the first customers include commercial cleaning robots and companion robots, due to ramp in the second half (pp. 10, 12);
- its chips are used in embodied robot dogs and in industrial, service, companion, sports and agricultural robots, and that it covers more robot categories and customers than any other chip maker in China (p. 12).
Those are its own claims. The report does not name a humanoid maker or give shipment numbers for robots.
Where it stands
Rockchip is a general-purpose chip supplier for which robots are one of many markets. Its filing shows chips reaching many robot types but gives no basis for judging how much of its growth comes from them.
