Overview

Business

Zhaowei (深圳市兆威机电股份有限公司) makes micro transmission and drive systems: precision gears and planetary reducers, brushed, brushless and coreless motors, and electronic drive modules. Its products go into smart cars, consumer and medical devices, industrial equipment and robots (2026 interim report, p. 11). It names Bosch, Huawei, BYD and Xiaomi among its customers (p. 17).

Results

In the first half of 2026 revenue rose 3.8% to ¥816.4m, while net profit attributable to shareholders fell 34.1% to ¥74.6m and profit excluding non-recurring items fell 44.0% (p. 7). The company does not tie the fall to robots.

Dexterous hands

Zhaowei says 2026 is widely seen as the first year of humanoid mass production and that it is applying its micro drives to dexterous hands and robot joints (p. 10). It sells hands on both main technical routes: fully driven hands with a micro drive module in each finger joint, and under-actuated hands that use linkages to grip with fewer motors. Its range is labelled A17, B21, B06 and C06, and it also sells the drive modules separately (pp. 10, 14). The company says commercialisation of hands and core drive modules is advancing and that it holds a strong position in the segment (p. 11).

The report gives no hand or module revenue, units or customers, and robots are one of four application areas in its reporting.

Where it stands

Zhaowei is a parts maker for which hands are an early line. Its own results are weakening, so the hand business is not yet visible in its numbers.
