Business

UBTech (优必选, UBTECH Robotics Corp Ltd) makes full-size humanoid robots and other robot products. Its industrial humanoid line is the Walker S series (bipedal) and the Cruzr wheeled series, aimed at factory tasks such as parts handling, sorting, assembly and quality inspection; the Walker C1 targets commercial service, education and research (2026 interim results announcement, pp. 6, 12).

Results

In the first half of 2026 revenue rose 104.2% to ¥1,269.1m. Full-size humanoid robot products and services earned ¥590.3m, up 1,445.0% from ¥38.2m, about 46.5% of revenue. It sold 921 full-size units, up 1,946.7% (pp. 1, 12). The count covers its full-size line, which includes the wheeled Cruzr models as well as bipedal Walker robots (pp. 6, 12).

Gross margin was 44.7%, up from 35.0%. The loss for the period was ¥338.8m, against ¥440.0m a year earlier (pp. 1, 2). It describes a target of producing 10,000 humanoid units a year (p. 8). The announcement does not break out the cost of actuators or name its parts suppliers.

Its technology

UBTech lists high-performance servo drives and integrated harmonic joints among the technologies it builds in-house (pp. 5, 7). As with Unitree, that suggests the humanoid maker keeps a large part of the joint in-house, though the filing does not say how much it buys from outside suppliers.

Where it stands

UBTech has more reported full-size unit sales in the half than the full-size business had in the same period last year, but they are not large next to its stated 10,000-unit target, and the company is still loss-making.
