Overview
Business
Silan (杭州士兰微电子股份有限公司) makes integrated circuits, discrete power devices and modules, and LED chips, with its own wafer fabs. Its markets are large appliances, cars, solar and energy storage, industry, communications and computing, and it lists humanoid robots among end uses for its power-management and controller chips (2026 interim report, p. 9).
Results
In the first half of 2026 revenue rose 14.6% to ¥7.26bn and net profit attributable to shareholders rose 94.8% to ¥516m. Most of that jump came from fair-value gains of about ¥194m after tax on shares it holds; excluding non-recurring items, profit rose only 0.67% to ¥271m (p. 9).
By product (pp. 9, 10):
- Integrated circuits: ¥2.98bn, up about 16%.
- Power semiconductors and discrete devices: ¥3.44bn, up about 15%. Of that, IGBT and SiC modules and devices for cars and solar were ¥1.60bn, up about 11%.
- Intelligent power modules (IPM): ¥2.03bn, up about 9%.
- LED chips: ¥377m, up about 9%, with a negative gross margin.
Silicon carbide
Its 6-inch SiC line produces about 10,000 wafers a month and is close to full, and its 8-inch SiC line is ramping up. It says SiC motor-drive modules for electric vehicles are shipping in rising volume with more customers, and that volume should rise sharply in the second half (pp. 10, 13).
Where it stands
Silan is more diversified than StarPower, with appliances and ICs as large as its vehicle business, and its reported profit was lifted by investment gains rather than operations.
