Overview

Business

Senior Technology (深圳市星源材质科技股份有限公司) makes lithium battery separators using dry, wet and coated processes, plus functional films. They go into electric vehicles, energy storage, e-bikes, power tools and other uses (2026 interim report, pp. 11, 13).

Results

In the first half of 2026 revenue rose 39.7% to ¥2.65bn, and net profit attributable to shareholders rose 103.1% to ¥204.0m. Profit excluding non-recurring items rose 297.0% to ¥173.0m (p. 9).

Market

The company says Chinese companies held over 92% of the global separator market in 2025, with Japanese, American and Korean makers losing share, and cites XinLuo Lithium Battery data projecting global separator shipments of 105 billion square metres by 2030, of which 100 billion from Chinese makers. It says the industry left a phase of overcapacity and low-price competition in the first half of 2026, moving to a tighter balance with prices stabilising and rising (p. 13). These are its own statements and projections.

Where it stands

Senior is much smaller than SEMCORP by revenue. It makes dry-process separators as well as wet-process and coated ones, while SEMCORP stresses its wet-process capacity. Both report the same recovery in prices and profit.
